The English memoir uses a single-column serif text, indented paragraphs and centred sans-serif running heads. Chapter openings combine a viaduct drawing, small-cap numbering, italic subtitles and drop capitals; short rules accompany the heads and folios. A recipe within the narrative keeps its own heading and ingredient hierarchy.
